Our
training philosophy is simple: Train the client for what the client
wants to learn, not what the trainer presumes the client should know.
Many
ACT! trainers use a rigid, connect-the-dots training syllabus. At KJF
and Associates, we ask the client what they want to learn and tailor
the client's ACT! training to their proficiency and desires. Even our
Introductory training—which covers the basics of the ACT! menu
structure and "big picture" topics (contacts, lookups, scheduling,
opportunities, etc.)—is oriented toward what the client tells us they
want to learn. And our Intermediate training, which discusses
customizing contact fields, working with groups, designing layouts and
reports, synchronization, and database administration, is flexible and
allows clients individual or group instruction.
We believe
that training and listening is a two-way street. The client listens to
and acquires knowledge from our ACT! classes, but we, as trainers,
listen to what our clients want to gain from our curricula.
